The integration of local wisdom and functional food into biology education serves as a promising strategy to enhance both the relevance of learning and sustainable food security. This study aims to analyze a model of integration between these two aspects and to identify the potential of local resources as tools for both education and nutrition. A systematic literature review method was employed, sourcing articles from Google Scholar (2021–2025) using the keywords “Biology Education”, “Local Wisdom”, and “Functional Food”. The findings reveal that Dadio, tempe koro benguk, and food sources derived from mangroves and macroalgae are effective as instructional media and alternative nutrition sources, despite a noted gap in interdisciplinary approaches. The study concludes with a call for the development of culturally grounded curricula and cross-sectoral collaboration to optimize local resources.
