The Role of Organizational Culture in Building a WorkEnvironment that Supports Employee Well-Being

Employee well-being is increasingly recognized as critical to organizational performance, yet many workplaces lack the cultural foundations to support it. This study examines how organizational culture impacts employee well-being, with a focus on leadership, flexibility, recognition, and inclusivity. Using a
qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm, data were collected through semi-structured interviews (N = 25) and supported by a survey (N = 120) which were analyzed. through Pearson correlation
. The results showed that clan culture and transformational leadership were strongly associated with
higher job satisfaction and emotional resilience, while authoritarian leadership was correlated with increased stress. Flexible work arrangements and recognition systems also had positive impacts on engagement and retention. However, there is still a gap between policy and practice. The study concluded
that a supportive organizational culture—built on trust, empathy, and consistency—is key to maintaining employee well-being.
