STUDI ETNOZOOLOGI PADA MAKANAN TRADISIONAL KHAS SUKU LEMBAK DI KOTA BENGKULU DAN KABUPATEN BENGKULU TENGAH

This research aims to explore the use of animals used in traditional food typical of the Lembak Tribe through an ethnozoological approach. The research was conducted in 3 areas, namely Semarang and Tanjung Jaya Villages, Bengkulu City and Talang Tengah Village, Central Bengkulu Regency. Data was obtained through interviews and direct observation with local communities. The data from the research results were analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner. There are 20 types of traditional food typical of the Lembak Tribe that use animals, namely botok, pepes fish, gulai tempoyak, peate, malbi, soy sauce goat thighs, arbor rice, apam, beledang, beledang, empek-empek ebi, rendang lokan, gulai tengkuyung, tauco fish, cuko fish, kates rempelo, peyek fish, bagar shark, tempoyak kijing, coconut milk, and klio. There are 15 types of animals used in the traditional cuisine of the Lembak Tribe, such as areca nut, catfish, tilapia, sepat fish, free-range chickens, goats, scallops, ebi, lokan, river snails, rice snails, kijing, wader fish, sharks and cows. The parts of the animal's body that are used as food are meat, eggs and the whole body. Based on IUCN data, there are 9 species with Least Concern (LC) status, 5 species with Not Evaluated (NE) status, and 1 species with Vulnerable (VU) status. This research shows that the Lembak Tribe people have strong local knowledge about the use of various types of animals as food, daily consumption, snacks, and traditional ceremonies.
