DESAIN KONSEPTUAL PEMANFAATAN GAS BUANG MESIN DIESEL UNTUK MICROSCALE POWERPLANT

Abstract


Krisis energi di Indonesia dapat dikurangi dengan pemanfaatan energi yang terbuang pada mesin diesel. Salah satu teknologi yang digunakan adalah Organic Rankine Cycle dengan inputan exhaust gas mesin diesel. Desain awal dilakukan dengan mensimulasikan microscale powerplant pada Cyclepad. Model mesin diesel yang digunakan adalah Generac SD010 dengan kapasitas daya 10 kW. Laju aliran massa exhaust gas yang dihasilkan adalah 0,062 kg/s. Refrigerant yang digunakan pada simulasi adalah R12 dan R22, dimana dilakukan variasi tekanan keluaran pompa 1000-4000 kPa. Diasumsikan diameter dalam heat exchanger 0,01905 m dan panjangnya 100 m. Dari penelitian, diperlukan laju aliran massa refrigerant yang semakin kecil seiring peningkatan tekanan output pompa., sehingga laju transfer kalor mengalami penurunan. Peningkatan tekanan menyebabkan daya yang dihasilkan pada turbin meningkat. Daya tertinggi adalah 2,23 kW pada R12 dan 2,59 kW pada R22. Efisiensi sistem tertinggi yang dapat dicapai adalah 21,25% oleh R22 pada tekanan 4000 kPa. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan R22 sebagai fluida kerja ORC lebih baik dibandingkan R12, terutama pada tekanan yang tinggi.
