DOCUMENT RE-RANKING BASED ON DOCUMENT CONTENT AND CONTRIBUTOR SCORE

Abstract


This research proposed a new method for re-ranking documents by considering important information from the document content and also used contributors score. Each contributor is given a score which is a competency assessment. Assuming that more articles are written by contributors, it means that the contributors are considered to be more competent. The architecture of the proposed method includes: indexing, document selection in accordance with the input query, and re-ranking process. The re-ranking process consists of two phases, i.e. weighting and ordered documents. From the testing results known that there is a differences in the ordered document which have an effect on the relevance of the search results. In addition, there are also differences in the number of selected documents. This shows that using the proposed method can expand the search results.
