Abstract


The more modern the human culture, the more its needs, including the need for education. The challenges of the 21st century are marked by the era of globalization that has made the world as a borderless world triggering international comparisons between schools, curricula, assessment methods, and student achievement. Education is a key factor in determining whether a country falls into the "developed", "developing", or "underdeveloped" category. Therefore, one of the efforts to improve the quality of human resources is done through education programs by improving the quality of teachers through professionalism. A professional science teacher is a teacher who develops three awareness: what the goal learning is, aware of the importance of science content knowledge and choose the right strategy to learn. This awareness is strongly supported by literacy ability. One of the achievements of literacy products is to become a teacher that follows the development of the era. Broad insights and special abilities in both comparative and competitive also humble are the scientist's characters who are teachers and teachers who are scientists in the present and future.
