The Implementation Of Inquiry In The Science Learning To Enhance Students’ Spiritual Attitude And Skill In Class VII State Junior High School 18 Malang

Abstract


The result of the observation toward the students of VII H SMPN 18 Malang during the lesson shows that 36% of students getting a low score (score 2 from the range of 1-4). The skills of doing practicum, there are 52% of students getting scores under the minimum standard score of 75 and the skill of creating a practicum report there are 79% of students getting scores under minimum standard score of 75. The lack of practicum application causes the low score of spiritual attitude, the practicum application and the practicum report. The goal of the research is to develop students’ spiritual attitude and students’ skill. The research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which apply inquiry learning, as the effort to develop students’ spiritual attitude and students’ skill. Inquiry learning is chosen to develop students’ creativity. The research is applied in two cycles consisting 14 meetings.The research is applied in two basic competences. The lesson material of energy in life is used as cycle 1 and temperature is used as cycle 2. The cycle step includes planning, action applying, observing and reflecting. The data of attitude is gotten by questionnere (Likert scale), the skill of applying practicum is gotten by  observation sheet, and the skill of creating practicum report is gotten by students’ work rubrics. The research shows that the applying of inquiry develops (1) the spiritual attitude, up to 9% (2)the average score of spiritual attitude, up to 0,42% (3) the skill of doing practicum, up to 52% (4) the average score of doing practicum, up to 73% (6) the average score of creating practicum report, up to 25,08%. To suggest that it is necessary to do the following research related to the students skill to do discussion.
