One of them reflected obvious in the poverty alleviation program that all schemes based on economic and disregard to socio-psychological aspect of the poor. Whereas poverty has also spawned psychological problems on the poor, as well as the students who come from poor families.Program that aims to help poor students also design in form of financial assistance for education and have not touched the psychological aspects of poor students. Therefore, this study aimed to identify psychological problems experienced by poor students elementary school in Malang. This study uses a mixed method approach between quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data was collected using psychological tests (tests of intelligence)and self-efficacy scales and interviews with teachers to uncover other psychological problems that have not been revealed through tests and self efficacy scale. The respondents were 32 students from poor families are sitting in grade 3-5 at elementary school from 3 elementary schools, SDN Mulyoagung 2, SDN Mulyoagung 4, and SDN Sumber Sekar 1,DAU Malang . Result shows that most of the participant in the average level of intelligent and the middle level of self efficacy. Otherwise the psychological problem revealed from interviewing teacher and observation that shows the unwell mannered. Keyword : psychological problem, student from poor family.
