Pemanfaatan sekam bakar dan serabut kelapa sebagai media tanam bayam merah (Amaranthus gangeticus) dengan perbedaan intensitas penyiraman air teh

Abstract


Pemilihan media tanam diindikasikan mampu mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman. Pada penelitian ini, perbedaan laju pertumbuhan antara bayam merah yang ditumbuhkan di media sekam bakar dengan serabut kelapa dikaji. Parameter pertumbuhan tanaman yang dijaji meliputi tinggi batang, lebar daun, dan panjang akar. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan independent samples t test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa jenis media tanam berpengaruh terhadap tinggi tanaman [t hitung (13,245) > t tabel (2,0371)] maupun panjang akar [t hitung (3,654) > t tabel (2,0371)]. Namun, perlakuan tersebut tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan pada parameter lebar daun [t hitung (0,071) < t tabel (2,0371)]. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa sekam bakar memiliki potensi yang lebih baik sebagai media tanam bayam merah.
