Hormon auksin dan pengaruhnya terhadap pertumbuhan cabai rawit (Capsicum frutensen) dan cabai keriting (Capsicum annum)

Abstract


Upaya peningkatan produksi cabai dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan Zat Pengatur Tumbuh (ZPT) auksin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil pemberian auksin terhadap pertumbuhan cabai rawit (Capsicum frutescens) dan cabai keriting (Capsicum annum). Parameter yang diukur pada penelitian ini adalah tinggi batang, lebar daun, dan panjang akar. Penelitian menggunakan auksin dengan 2 konsentrasi yaitu 2 ppm dan 4 ppm, dengan pengulangan sebanyak 4 kali. Data tinggi tanaman serta lebar daun dianalisis menggunkana two-way analysis of covariance, sedangkan data panjang akar dianalisis menggunakan two-way analysis of variance. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) tinggi tanaman tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor jenis cabai (F = 1,087; p-value = 0,312) dan faktor kombinasi ( 1,849; p-value = 0,188), namun dipengaruhi oleh konsentrasi auksin (F = 10,124; p-value = 0,001); 2) Lebar daun tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor jenis cabai, (F = 6,976; p-value = 0,180) konsentrasi hormon (F = 2,731; p-value = 0,094), maupun faktor kombinasi (F = 2,441; p-value = 0,117); serta 3) panjang akar dipengaruhi oleh jenis cabai (F = 22,127; p-value = 0,000) dan konsentrasi hormon (F = 7,919; p-value = 0,003), namun tidak dipengaruhi oleh faktor interaksi (F = 1,467; p-value = 0,257).
