Pembiasaan penerapan model problem based learning dan dampaknya terhadap peningkatan penguasaan konsep biologi siswa SMA

Abstract


Problem Based Learning (PBL) adalah model pembelajaran yang berpotensi mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pada pertemuan ke berapa PBL mulai mampu memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap penguasan konsep biologi siswa SMA. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA di salah satu SMA di Malang. Pengambilan data penguasaan konsep dilakukan sebelum (pretest) dan setelah (posttest) pembelajaran dari setiap pertemuan. Pengambilan data dilakukan sebanyak empat pertemuan. Data pretest dan posttest dari setiap pertemuan dianalisis menggunakan paired sample t test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman konsep belum terjadi secara signifikan di pertemuan pertama [t hitung (0,958) < t tabel (2,144)], namun peningkatan secara signifikan telah terjadi pada pertemuan kedua [t hitung (5,442) > t tabel (2,144)], ketiga [t hitung (3,334) > t tabel (2,144)], hingga keempat [t hitung (178,67) > t tabel (2,144)]. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan PBL yang dilakukan secara berkelanjutan mampu memberikan dampak positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa.
