Interaksi tingkat kelas dan pendidikan orang tua sebagai faktor pencapaian hasil belajar IPA siswa SMP

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat pendidikan orang tua dan tingkat kelas terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa SMP Muhammadiyah 06 Dau Malang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian menggunakan penelitian Ex Post Facto. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa SMP di Malang, sedangkan, sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII B, VIII B, dan IX B semester genap tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 di salah satu SMP di Malang. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan ANOVA dua jalur. Taraf signifikansi yang digunakan adalah sebesar 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar IPA siswa tidak dipengaruh oleh tingkat pendidikan Ibu [F(2,45) = 2,616; p-value = 0,08], namun dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kelas [F(2,45) = 8,178; p-value < 0,05]. Selain itu, terdapat interaksi antara tingkat pendidikan ibu dengan tingkat kelas [F(4,45) = 3,187; p-value < 0,05]. Temuan yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini, antara lain adalah 1) siswa kelas IX memiliki prestasi belajar yang secara signifikan lebih tinggi dari tingkat-tingkat kelas di bawahnya; serta 2) siswa kelas IX SMP yang ibunya tamatan SMA memiliki prestasi belajar yang lebih baik dari kelompok siswa lainnya.
