The role teachers in online learning using zoom meeting applications for class iv elementary school students

Abstract


The purpose of the study was to describe the role of teachers in online learning using the zoom meeting application for fourth grade students at State Elementary School 01 Jatipurwo, Jatipuro District, Karanganyar Regency for the 2020/2021 Academic Year. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, the subjects of this research are fourth grade teachers and students at SD Negeri 01 Jatipurwo, Jatipuro District, Karanganyar Regency. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data validation was carried out by technical triangulation and time triangulation by comparing observation data, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses qualitative data analysis which includes data reduction data, data presentation, and verification and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the role of the teacher in online learning using the zoom meeting application for grade IV students at the State Elementary School 01 Jatipurwo, Jatipuro District, Karanganyar Regency through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation activities, the researchers concluded that in online learning activities using the teacher zoom meeting application play an active role as a teacher, mentor or director and as a motivator for students, this is clearly seen when learning takes place, the teacher provides directions or notifications on how to use technology or online learning applications. In addition, the teacher also asks students who are still confused or having difficulties, here the teacher carries out his role to guide students or direct students and teachers to deliver material through the zoom meeting application, in this case the teacher carries out his role as a teacher or educator to his students. The teacher at the end of each lesson always encourages students through motivational words so that students continue to learn this shows the teacher acts as a motivator for students.
